Friday and the last of a four day .NET course I have been following. The course have been a mix of Visual Studio, commandline tools and VB.NET information.
The course is normally a VB6 to VB.NET upgrade course, but since we are a mixed group of people (all from the same company) the course have been more adjusted to our profile. So with focus on VB.NET and its cool features.
I have no experience with VB6 and only superficially with prior version. But I have one feeling with the VB.NET language after having been presesented with the new stuff:
- better OOP support
- delegates (function pointers)
- webservices development
- better types
- neat foundation classes
- regular expressions
I have been using most of these features for a year now, but I feel sorry for the people who have been working with prior versions of VB - but maybe it is just me.
Still I look forward to programming som e Perl in the weekend.
