Some lessons in life ...

  • Never speak at the same time Damian Conway has a key note speech at a conference ... (YAPC::Europe::2002)
  • Never use Term::ReadLine in your Makefile.PL script, but use ExtUtils::MakeMaker::prompt
  • It is never too late to start posting on use.perl.org.
I learned these the hardway ... actually it was rather soft and hence nice lessons in life.
Did I mention this is my first use.perl post? Now I did.
I'm going to a makeshift party this evening, organised by my former employer (www.evisor.com), which has been bought by PwC which has been bought by IBM ... and which is now totally defunct ;-)

Never prompt.

2 years ago, when Perl 6 first hit the news at TPC (that's the current Perl 6, not the earlier C++ project), I had a presentation scheduled against the (added at the last minute) Perl 6 planning session. The person introducing the speakers in my room asked permission to go see the Perl 6 talk for a while. I asked if I could go too. :-)
