On Saturday I bought Steve Reich's Triple Quartet in HMV classical.

The shop assistant was scanning the CD when suddenly he held it up to his colleague and said, "Look what this guy is buying".

Turning to me he said, "This is what we play when we want to clear the place". "Track 4", he added, "Electric Guitar Phase".

One of my favorite record shops, back in vinyl days, used to put on Opera to clear out the punk rockers at closing time. That worked for a while, until it starting bringing in Opera lovers.

Reich is an acquired taste. Kronos Quartet/Pat Metheny performing "Different Trains, Electric Counterpoint" is one of my favorites.
