TIMTOWTDI vs. TMTOWTDI

It looks like there is more than one way to do "There is more than one way to do it". I've always thought TIMTOWTDI was just that... looks like I was wrong and the first 'I' is not present in the acronym and that it's really "There's more than one way to do it" (TMTOWTDI).

Here's a google fight to back it up.

Still, I like TIMTOWTDI better and think that I'll deal with looking like a fool and keep using it... who dropped the 'I' anyway :)

Yes, I remember noticing once that timtowtdi.com wasn't registered (it still isn't) and getting excited about it for a few minutes before I figured out the first I is supposed to be silent, or something. ;)

Probably depends on native vs. non-native English speakers as well (i.e., how comfortable you are with contractions in English). If you tend to elide the `i' to create `there's' instead of `there is', then you'll probably go with TMTOWTDI. Of course, as with all statistics, individual samples may vary.

I also like TIMTOWTDI better

I like TIMTOWTDI better because it makes for an easier to pronounce acronym.
