Sounds like Pink Floyd, actually...
Gosh, I did listen to a criminal amount of Floyd in high school. Is it that obvious? I like almost all Floyd before Division Bell. The version of this song that I recorded ten years ago was a lot more like Floyd: very loud guitars with a lot of reverb.
You might also hear some strains of Yes and King Crimson in my recordings.
BTW: the tuba samples that can be heard in distored guitar sections are from Dead and Gone #1: Funeral Marches (#2 can be found here).
