Traficant's Troubles

Recently removed Ohio Rep. James Traficant ran afoul of standards and practices on the Imus show. During a telephone interview, Traficant expressed his dissatisfaction with the FBI and IRS.

"[they can] go [fuck] themselves."

Imus, using his seven-second-delay radio-FU, blocked the explitive from his live show. MSNBC, inexplicably, could not do the same.

The seasoned broadcaster admonished Traficant and then asked:

"They are going to sentence you tomorrow. How much do you think you'll get?"

The bemused Traficant then hung up.

Is it just me, or does Traficant sound like a rerun of Bloom County's Senator Bedfellow?

I always liked James Trafficant. Between his wardrobe and his no-holds-barred approach to politics, I always had a soft spot in my heart for him, even if I didn't agree with everything he said.

I also liked him because he had the balls to all but call Bill Clinton a traitor in regards to the almost-certain exchange of money for military technology with China.
