Because of the changes to the campaign finance laws, far more money is being spent by third parties this year than before, and MoveOn and Media Fund have spent tens of millions on Kerry's behalf already (not sure how much, but it wouldn't surprise me if they've spent as much as Kerry has
... as of March, they had already raised $70m). These groups have also spent some for Bush, but not nearly as much as on Kerry's side.
