For some years now, I've taken advantage of feature in the Slash code called Lite Mode. It's a user preference that renders slashdot site, like this one, with fewer graphic elements. Page loads are faster and generally, the layout is more pleasing to my highly sensative aesthetic taste.
How many use.perlers are using lite mode here? How about on Slashdot?

I noticed it a long while back, but I switched to it permanently only recently. This was when I was going through a period of browsing with Lynx. The HTML was just so much easier to read. I've stayed switched because it's just generally nicer to read, even in mozilla though.

I've used it for years on
/., but on use Perl; I use standard mode. I have used lite mode on use Perl; in the past.
I access the Journals on use Perl; a lot and the slashbox with the latest updated Journals being right there on the right is convenient.
I think the aesthetic choices for layout and colors are more to my liking on use Perl; than on /. when not in lite mode. Blue is my favorite color, though.
Looks like crap to me.

Linear. No distinction between sections. Doesn't seem to make the page load any faster.
