I have nothing original to say...

But I just had to share this gem from the oh-so-painfully eighties: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGO2hVA3P58

OS/2 bad, Windows good?

Part of the conversation:
  • You're not supposed to be running OS/2 yet, we haven't finished evaluating it.
  • Relax, this isn't OS/2, it's Microsoft Windows/386...
What the hell! So what was supposedly so bad about OS/2 and good about Microsoft Windows, that the latter didn't require official approval?

Original floppies

I think I still have a copy of Windows/386 on a small stack of 3.5" floppy disks. I never used that though - MS Project 1.0 came with a copy of Windows 2.0.

This was all on dad's computer. I was just an itsy kid at the time.

Oh, the nostalgia...

Aah, the 80s. The days where x386s were machines of incredible speed, where all you needed to connect yourself to a vast network of a dozen computers was a 1200bauds modem and a BBS phone number, and where Wolfenstein was all the rage...

Those were innocent days. I miss them, sometimes. :-)
