First day of my fall class, tonight!
So I get up early, in order to come into work early and actually have a decent amount of time in the afternoon, and as usual head into the kitchen to check the laptop for email. Unfortunately the machine is strangely silent: no glowing green light peers at me through the darkness; no bright screen answers my action on the trackpad. Amichan, my beautiful laptop and primary notetaking machine, is dead.
There's a Calvin comic strip where Calvin is gazing at the clouds when suddenly they reform into an image of his own face, which sticks out it's tongue at him. Calvin responds, "I'd say that crossed over the line from bizarre coincidence to evil omen."
