The problem of losing your voice

I've lost my voice, and now I can't program.

Well, I can. It's just that apparently while I'm programming I spend an awful lot of time muttering, mumbling, griping, and just in general talking to myself. And now I've got the constant mental interruption of wanting to do that and discovering that I can't.

It's like trying to program with thick gloves on. :)

I'm sure I tick a lot of people off but I do the same thing. If there are important muckity mucks running about I have refrain from doing it and it definitely hinders me.

perambulation

I get up and pace around a lot while debugging. I'm sure that if I suffered a leg injury, it would affect me.

Luckily, I have my own office at work so my music, muttering and walking in circles doesn't bother others (I hope).

I used to go look out the window a lot. Now I work underground so that's not an option.

But I did realize recently I do a lot of mental programming while walking on my frequent trips to the bathroom....
