Missing log4j functionality: logdie()

jdavidb on 2008-02-15T16:31:44

Boy, I sure wish log4j had logdie().

On the plus side, not only did knowing Log4perl make learning log4j a breeze (other than configuration issues, which got into Java properties I didn't understand at first), but the Log4perl FAQ is a better reference for a lot of log4j questions than many log4j specific resources.

Thanks, Mike Schilli. You've done a lot to help me become both a better Perl programmer and a better Java programmer. And your name always turns out to be on a much-needed module when I discover it. If there's an unsung Perl hero award, I'd nominate you for it.

The White Camel Awards recognize the many significant contributions made by the unsung heros of the Perl community.

I don't know how to make nominations, though.

Thanks. I knew there was something like that out there. I was thinking you had to actually attend the conference where the awards were given to make nominations, or something. If not, though, Mike definitely gets my nomination next time they come around, if I get a chance to nominate.

You make nominations by emailing David Adler.

However, the White Camels are for community, not technical, contributions.
