The Last Legionary series by Douglas Hill was one of my favorite science fiction series as a boy. I remember going to the school library every week and checking the FIC-HIL section looking for his books, which always seemed to be checked out by somebody else.
My recent deaths RSS feed just informed me that he passed away on the 21st, after being hit by a bus.
Apparently he was very prolific, and there's a lot more books he wrote that I'd like to have the time to read some day.
