Bought a computer and installed Debian on it last night. I used a Woody install disk because there was a problem with my sarge install disks; I planned to just use apt to upgrade after install.
This morning I'm finishing up, and it can't upgrade glibc because it needs kernel 2.4 or later. (Ooops! I remember now that this install disk gives me the option to install with a 2.4 kernel! Boy am I foolish for installing a kernel this old when I had a choice...)
So anyway, I'm going to give a shot at upgrading the kernel the Debian way, and I remember that mystified me in the past and apparently still does, so I Googled for "upgrading debian kernel", and result #7 was my own journal. Wow.
In my case, something I had written long before on the WLUG Wiki came up at #2 in Google (the wiki has very high PageRank). I don’t remember what the query was about, but I remember the incident.
