The difference between you and me is that you think that the law is a basis for regulating every individual in society, and I think that the law is a basis for regulating the interface between society and individuals.
In a strict definition:
In general, a rule of being or of conduct, established by an authority able to enforce its will; a controlling regulation; the mode or order according to which an agent or a power acts.Laws are for individuals who make up a society and by which a society is governed. It isn't an interface at all.
