I assumed the G8 summit was in Africa, somewhere, since Africa was being discussed. I also presumed Live 8 was happening somewhere nearby, as a protest or something.
I now see G8 occurred in the United Kingdom. I guess I still assume Live 8 happened in Africa, but I suppose someone will now correct me on this.
Despite following political news a lot, I care little for and paid little attention to G8. And my attention and interest for Live 8 is a negative number.

I had little awareness of what G8 really was, but I did catch some of
The Girl in the Cafe last night (on HBO). I'm not sure if it raised my awareness, or raised my illusion of awareness, but it was a pretty good flick. It's on a few more times this month...worth checking out.

Not originally, but after realising they'd staged 7 concerts in rich white places, but none in Africa, they added one (a bit smaller but still big in Africa) attended by people that didn't quite understand why the hell a group of white guys 10,000km could do to stop their local dictators stealing all the aid money.
