are people who write VB
I've had to interview a lot of them recently for various reasons I won't go in to. They all seem so disinterested by anything that happens at any reasonably low level.
sigh
One thing I've found working with VB folks is that (to various degrees) they put up with a lot of boring, repetitive work because their tools are not easily automatable. And most of them are Win32-only folks so they don't have the unix-power-tool mentality for automating bits and pieces then putting them all together to make a useful, repeatable process.
Of course, it's easy to achieve guru status among veebeebies with Perl and liberal sprinklings of File::Find, among other things

All true. I was probably a little harsh. Not all of them have this mentality, but when I ask someone if HTTP is statelful or not I should get the right answer back from someone with 'web developer' on their CV. Frustration I guess.
