Well, I did it at last. After a good month or so of staring at the new iMac and lusting over it badly, I finally went out and bought one.
And oh my is it nice. Of course one of the nicest things about my house now is that I can back up my iBook (little drive, bad for video editing) to the iMac (big drive, good for video editing) via the wonderful, blessed wireless network.
Of course the one thing that really lets it down significantly is the fact that dial up connections to the internet are sooo sllooooowww.
Normally I don't bother with my dial up connection for anything other than mail or a little IRC'ing. The nice thing about my laptop is that I can plug it in at work and get the latest apple updates at a decent rate of bits. However, desktop computers aren't that portable, and trying to download the apple update over 56k is about as fun as watching paint dry.
Hmmm, DSL? No, must resist the temptation...
Oh like thats going to work.
