It says (using ITRANS encoding): jaladhara ha. vyAsa in Gujarati UTF-8. You probably don't have a font that supports Gujarati glyphs. I actually use Arial Unicode lifted from a windows machine though it doesn't quite display it right either. The Pango library used by GTK2 (and mozilla) does support Devanagari but apparently no one has done Gujarati yet.
