Total Information Awareness that is. Delta is beginning to use a new system, Aviation Security Screening Records (ASSR), which aggregates public/private sector databases to deny passengers...and who knows what else. Delta is the testing ground, and if the Dept of Transportation gets its way it will be deployed more widely. The FBI/CIA screwed up on 9/11 and now everyone gets to pay.

... because there's no way to pre-test whether you're a green, yellow, or red, and there's no way to appeal if you're being miscategorized.

- Are they going to red-flag me? I can't tell.
- Is there anyone I can ask? No.
- Can I use the plane to travel? I don't know.
- Can I book a class, knowing I may or may not get on a plane to get there? Good question.
