I got this email today that seemed to originate from mailwasher-b.lanl.gov:
The original content of this message part has been replaced
by this text because it tested positive for the following
virus(es):
W32/Netsky-Q
This notification is being sent to you and any other
original envelope recipient(s). To avoid creating a
nuisance and to keep mail traffic under control, the
original sender of the message has NOT been notified.
However, you may want to notify the sender at your
discretion.
So let me get this straight ... The mail scanner detected that the message contained the netsky windows worm. It knew that the sender address was likely forged and bouncing back to sender would "create a nuisance". And yet somehow sending a message to me - the randomly selected victim - is not a nuisance?!?
I think I'd rather have just got the worm thanks - it's not going to infect my Linux box anyway.
