Note to self -- bad first place to start getting back into Perl was regex.
I've been grinding for a while on a simple filtering process, and goddamned if it's not kicking my ass.
At least I'm writing code instead of moping, although it probably would have behooved me to spend some time this morning getting my call list for places in Northampton together. Since I'm planning to move there as soon as I can (possibly by the end of August), I figure the easiest way to make sure I can get some minimal employment and some sort of domicile arranged is to call on apartments, then call some local places that might be willing to take on a full-time employee.
(Oh, and yes, I have an associate's in geekery, but I've never managed to successfully parlay that into work, so I have to assume I won't be able to at first down there.)
Blah. I'll do it tomorrow.
