Despite my advice, Conectiva removed completely Apache 1.X from its snapshot, upgrading to Apache 2 without proper modules for Perl and PHP.
The results? Dynamic web sites are broken here. And the lag is huge to get an answer and/or solution to that.
It makes me think even more about removing Linux from this desktop and moving to FreeBSD (I won't install another linux distribution here...).
Why I haven't done so yet? Because I need Linux to test some stuff for my customers.
Some main functionality was maintained here, after I have recompiled lots of things manually, but I don't feel like doing that at every upgrade.
Why using snapshot? 'Cause it's how CL will be soon. It has lots of things that I use already packaged. And lots of old problems solved.
This is a big dilemma...
In the end, Conectiva--
Update: Fixed the PHP problem with its latest packages... No Perl yet.
