Super overclock --- P4 at 3998 MHz

As you can see here, some crazy people made the new P4 of 2.8 GHz run at almost 4 GHz for 39 seconds.

As an engineer (I'm graduating as an engineer), I can just think of: when should we consider the temperature in our equations?

• When we're out of the manufacturer's specifications?
• When we're very near the manufacturer's specified limits?
• When we have 10 liters of liquid nitrogen nearby? ;-)
