National Cancer Institute is sponsoring development of grant open source tools for gene expression and genotype analysis. I saw a neat book at Barnes and Noble, interviews with directors, talking about their first movie. A Playboy game? Paul Kulchenko is collecting Web Services conferences. Jon pointed me to the party political ad I REALLY agree with. And I rediscovered another reason why Andy Wardley is a brain out of control.

Political Ad

It's odd that you would "REALLY agree with" something that's so wrong. ;-)

The most egregious statement it makes is entirely false: the U.S. has not, in any way, criminalized public dissent. That statement is indefensible, unless it means "criminalized" sociologically, instead of a legally.

As to secret tribunals and "shooting first" (pre-emptive strikes?), these are nothing new to the 226-year history of the USA. Secret tribunals are rare, but not illegal, and not new. And pre-emptive strikes to prevent an imminent attack are certainly not new either. This *is* America.

I agree. Self-loathing is so British!
