CPAN HO!

(1) Join Apple Developer Blahblah and download your OS X Developer's Kit (aka gcc + make + stuff I haven't heard of before).

(2) Download wget (ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles is my favourite Get ch0re w4r3z site) and install it.

(3) Tell CPAN config that "wget -q" is the path to your ncftpget program. Ho ho.

Rock on.

CPAN.pm wants to install perl-5.6.1 to get a newer version of the Autoloader. Um, no.

  • Install fink from here
  • Just type fink install wget

... fink - http://fink.sf.net/

And what do you need wget for? curl is distributed with Mac OS X. Better license too. :-)
