Sunday. Drove down from LA to San Diego, traffic was ... well, Californian. Checked into the hotel, and surveyed the room. Then went down and checked out the hotel settings, and found everyone.
The ORA folks were working hard and so I mosied on over to the bar, where of course I found all the Perl folks. Jarkko, Elaine, and others were hanging out talking, but the table was full. So I sat down and started talking to Peter Wiggin from the O'Reilly Network. Before long we were joined by Tim Bunce, Graham Barr, Simon Cozens (and again), Uri of Arabia (dead sexy), and a bunch of London Perlmongers: Dave Cross, Simon Wistow, Leon Brocard, Peter Haworth. Then who should come along but Matt Sergeant and Mrs Sergeant. Down in the registration area were O'Reilly Stalwarts Joe Johnston and Tim Allwine. Who should we see at speaker registration but Dick Hardt, and The Lovely Lori (who posed with Dave for this photo).
That night we went to a good seafood restaurant ("Top of the Market", I think). Jon Orwant enjoyed wet dribbly baby kisses.
It's so good to see everyone again!
