Putty is a great example of what windows software can be. Small and reliable. The office SSH Win32 port and F-Secure both kind of blow rhino. SecureCRT isn't so bad, but putty's price ($0.00US) takes the prize.

TeraTerm Pro and TSSH

I use and love putty, but before putty did have tunneling, i used Tera Term Pro with the TTSSH plugin.

I use tera term still, don't see the big deal about putty, though I do use his scp.

My only beef with TTSH is the guy dropped it and it is stuck at SSH 1.5. The Tera Term developer also seems to have ceased development. There's one feature that I've seen nowhere but QV/Term which is placement of the cursor in a term by C-1 (Control+ Mouse 1), very useful in emacs and I still find my self doing it form time to time.

IMO, the deal with putty is that it's a great program that is small, robust, offers options for just about everything and supports just about everything.

My favourite part is that it's only one file and there's no install process. Thus I can just download it to my university account and run it without having installation woes due to the security lockdown.

All I need is the ability to export its options, since the machines have their registry cleaned when you logon (or off; not sure).

Great program.
