The left tries hard to manufacture a scandal. In some ways they have it easier than the Republicans did when they worked overtime to stitch up Clinton. Slick Willy couldn't keep his wingwang in check but there was a lot of "we shouldn't be talking about this" and "boys will be boys" feeling to get over, whereas the Republicans appointed almost exclusively greedy rich bastards which means they're bound to have taken money from someone for something and those of us who haven't been wined and dined by the Taiwanese Government or Enron are much slower to say "greedy rich bastards will be greedy rich bastards" than we are to say "string the fuckers up and give me some o' that slush fund!"
