Crazy plan but it might just work ...

Sequester Nat, his laptop, printer, and keyboard in the bach from about 10am on, once the immediate email hell has passed. The idea is that an offline Nat will be a more productive Nat.

Crazy idea ...

Wow...

You have any idea what a prime piece of space like that would list for in Silicon Valley? Our real estate market has barely noticed the economic mess, somehow.

Heck, I'd kill for that kind of quiet and privacy these days...

From just the name I had an image of a sound-proofed room with harpsichords etc. and the sound of "Air on a G String" in the background.

That could be very productive too, but you'd produce more music than words.

Sometimes when I need to be productive I shut off IRC, email, or both. Of course, that doesn't prevent me from wasting time, but it removes the more immediate and pervasive time-wasters.

At this new place where I am hanging out, I am using Pine with the IMAP server thing. Helps productivity quite a bit. How so? Because it's more hassle to start pine (I have to type the imap password) so I don't do it every time I get distracted.
