There aren't many (any?) Perl people using the more conventional weblogs systems like weblogs.com and Radio. This might explain why Python was first to try to reimplement Radio Community Server.

Python-RCS

I saw an announcement headline for Python-RCS (stating that some version was out) and thought it was a Python implementation of the Revision Control System. Oops.

What kind of weblog do I want?

Slash works so much like the way I think that I can't imagine using anything different. If I were building one from scratch, it would probably be just like slash.

For at least the last sixth months (I only discovered slashdot a year ago, and this site only a little before that, but I didn't have an account then), I find myself wanting to post comments to respond to any arbitrary content on the Internet. I see a news article and want to post a comment and have to think, "Oh, I can't do that!" I even asked a fansite for one of my favorite television shows if they couldn't replace their discussion forums with slash.
