It's fun to imagine chance meetings between adjacent characters in the list: what could bring Scout Finch and Philip Marlowe together? Marcel from Remembrance of Things Past and Toad from Wind in the Willows? Who would win the Celebrity Boxing match between the Cat in the Hat and Peter Pan? (Cat's bigger, but Pete can fly).
It's worth glancing over simply to find things like Charlotte's Web beside On The Road, Catch-22 beside Gone With the Wind.
