Nuts. Brewster Kahle's going to be speaking on the Internet Archive at etech, talking about how it's built on Perl and Linux. And I can't attend.
Brewster talked about Perl in an interview on the O'Reilly Network. Another satisfied customer.
This year's etech conference features wireless, p2p, adaptive systems, and web services. The theme, roughly, is "things that we badly need bullshit filters for". My OSCON Man Friday, Rael, is the point man for etech, and busted his hump finding bullshit-free sessions. I know how hard that can be. rael++
My favourite title: If You've Got the Killer App, How Come I'm Not Dead Yet?. People I wish I could see speak: Brewster Kahle, Bruce Schneier, Clay Shirky, and Peter Neumann.
If any of you go, take notes for me :-)
