When you have two kids, simply seeing a movie can be difficult. The last film we saw in theatres was, I think, Monsters Inc. (Note that it's a movie we could take William to). (He loved it). (As did we).
We want to see Harry Potter. We want to see Lord of the Rings. But things keep happening to prevent us. We wanted to go see LOTR earlier in the week, but William suddenly decided he wanted to be with his mother. The time before that, the grandparents were too exhausted at 5pm to watch the kids.
But we engineered things so that we could go tonight. Grandparents watched the kids at our house, for minimum disruption, and we headed off in the minivan.
Which promptly broke down a 1/4 mile from the theater.
So we called AAA, waited for the truck, and forlornly trudged home to prepare for tomorrow night.
"Why, what are we going to do tomorrow night, Brain?"
"Same thing we do every night, Pinky---try to take over the world ^W^W^W^W pretend that we have lives outside our children."
