Since excite@home went tits up on the 1st, I've been dialling up. I had forgotten just how painful the world is through 56k lines. I remember when 14.4k was the standard, but back then we didn't have mp3s, pirated copies of Microsoft Office, or even Microsoft Word files to ship around.
But today my cable modem's lights returned to a happy pattern, and I am once-again net connected! Praise Allah Telephone and Telegraph! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to google for some Microsoft Office serial numbers :-)
