More layoffs here at O'Reilly--three people from the .NET and databases group, the indexers, and scattered PR and customer service positions. The Wrox meltdown is a cautionary tale, so we're trying hard to make sure it doesn't happen to us.
I don't think anybody that open source folks have dealt with is gone. Simon St Laurent, Linda Mui, Andy Oram, Lorrie Lejeune, Paula Ferguson, me ... we're all still here. Conferences and the O'Reilly Network escaped unscathed.
But man are we all depressed for our friends who were laid off. This economy sucks.
