With the upcoming winter break I need to make a list of things to get done while the students are away.
If I'm lucky I'll be able to knock down my TODO list and make some room for some pet projects. I don't think this is likely but what the heck, I can dream can't I?
The biggest short term problem however is trying to get funding to replace my aging desktops. I have about 4 Pentium 4 machines and the rest are PII's and PIII's (about 500MHz tops). Of course, with a new dean and a new VP of IT things aren't as simple as they used to be, well, the way things were before I started.
I hate bureacracy and politics. I just want some new pc's. I would really prefer to just switch over to linux and give win2k and office the heave ho.
Well, enough ranting, I need to work on my rather large stack of books.
