Once again I am tormented by a lack of patience. I'm waiting to get the requirements for a support contract so I can offer a bid.
One of the problems I had with this company before is a long lag in getting requirements and confirmation of requirements.
Don't know if I'll get it but I'll need to be very aggressive about getting clarifications and confirmations on requirements and timelines.
If they're that unreliable when it comes to clarifying requirements and such, that's a good indication that it might be appropriate to quote them a retainer fee and an hourly rate (or just the hourly rate). Otherwise, they'll chew you to pieces with requirements churn.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards an hourly rate.
However, if they go with a fixed fee I'm thinking of charging "overtime" if I go over x hours a week.
Since this is a side gig I'm not too concerned if I get it or not.
