Not much geekness occurring at the moment. Although I did order a new 40 GB harddrive for my vaio sr7k (warning: PDF file).
I spent this weekend playing reinstalling win2k a couple of time since my networking was starting to act a little flaky. I also did some reading on any strangeness I may encounter when I try to dual-boot linux on it. I'm leaning towards Mandrake but I may just give Debian a shot.
I've had the laptop for about 2 years now and I was thinking of buying another laptop. I figured it would make more sense to spend a couple hundred dollars getting a new harddrive and some other peripherals than spending about US$1,500.
I also bought a video card for my linux box. Not sure what I did differently put it seems to like the GeForce2 better the the ATI Rage 128 Pro. Go figure. I'm just happy to be able to run X.
