First Rule of Apache::MP3 Club

Always talk about Apache::MP3 Club.

Second rule of Apache::MP3 Club...

Yes, I've joined the ranks of folks using Apache::MP3. Very cool. However, I need to do some tweaking since I think I don't have enough upstream bandwidth to stream stuff properly. I need to look into using the feature that changes the bitrate of the mp3's. In any case, I really need to send Lincoln a thank you email.

Well, back to adding the requests for changes in the interface for the app I'm making my company.

Rocks beyond belief. I've got all my MP3's on my Linux box at work (biggest hard drive you see) but said Linux box does not have a bloody sound card. So I just stream the songs on my windows laptop via Apache::MP3[1] and the world is a wonderful place.

[1]Of course I could just install Samba on my Linux box and 'map-a-network-drive' from windows but it wouldn't have been as fun as the Apache/mod_perl/Apache::MP3 route would it :-)

That's next in my list of projects (Samba-fying that is) since my mp3's are on a win2k box and I'd prefer the stability of the linux box (once I get it off of mandrake 8.2 beta 2 and onto the released 8.2, which the disks are burned are ready to go)

I really, really need to get the restreamer stuff working since my bandwidth is not sufficient for streaming (keep draining the buffer in winamp).

Oh well, it's a useful and cool project that is worthwhile since it makes for a nicer workplace for me.
