Damn, I forgot to include the best part of my day.
I finally placed the monster order for equipment.
44 pc's (each with 17 inch LCD monitor)
7 17 inch LCD monitors
2 new laptops
3 new projectors
1 quad xeon server
We are also looking to replace our aging file server and a compute server. We are looking at a Sun Fire V880 server. Quad Sparc III, 16GB RAM, and 6 73GB SCSI drives (at least that would be the config for the file/home directory server). I think we would go lighter on the drives and heavier on RAM and get more CPU's for the compute server.
So, I have spent about $90K so far and need to see if we will get $100K needed for the 2 servers.
At least the day ended on a good note.
