A friend just showed me this link to the Change of Address form for the NJ DMV. Go ahead, fill in some fields then submit it. if you don't have the patience, I'll jump right to the punchline:

...and you know what they then do is print out the email message, stuff it in someone's IN Box, and when some poorly paid civil servant gets around to it, it gets entered into the system full of typos.

Back when the MA RMV hosted their system at BBN they also used formmail and some other custom perl scripts that some 'developer' wrote which would fill /tmp with oodles of tiny little files taking all the inodes. I think they changed developers and hosting now and use java.....
