I just received this email, addressed to me personally:

To: Geoffrey Young
Subject: mod_perl2 API change

Thank you very much for your API change. What you were thinking about when doing this? Maybe your ass?

Everything is broken now.... :((((

nice.

Which API Change?

jk2addict on 2005-06-10T17:32:06

Which API change are they talking about I wonder. From 1->2, or from 1.9->2.

If it's the latter, then maybe them missed that part about it not being released yet and not replying on unofficially released code.

really, I have no idea - I posted the entire email. I only assumed they meant the Apache2:: namespace migration.

Well, really...

...you did add the new geoffs_ass() method. I can understand where he's coming from. What else could you have been thinking of?

So, what does geoffs_ass() return. Wait, I don't really want to know that :)

I think it returns a natural log.

The backend?

Phred on 2005-06-15T18:50:54

Well I have often heard the server side which uses mod_perl referred to as 'the backend', so one could theorize that perhaps this is what the poster was referring to... ;-)
