The "thanks for ruining my sunday" award goes to the developers of Yahoo store, who decided that it would be a good idea to reduce server load to the servers that were redirecting to static content by rewriting all the urls to this content on publishing.
The thing that the didn't take into account was that a lot of these urls were like:
http://www.mystore.com/lib/mystore/image.gif
and these ended up looking like:
http://www.mystore.comhttp://lib1.store.xxx.xxx.yahoo.com/lib/mystore/image.gif
which is obviously broken. Not only was this a clever move (heavy sarcasm), if something can look fine on the edit site and break on the live it's a bit pointless.
The real icing on the cake is making changes late on a friday and then not having any support on weekends if things go wrong.
