Just noticed from a quick glance at slashdot that Jeffrey Friedl has written an article on What's New with Regular Expressions to promote the 2nd ed of Mastering Regular Expressions.
The 1st ed. was a fantastic book. It took me from regexp confusion when I was first getting into perl, taking me from hacking with substr to getting a glimpse of the power of regexps. I found the regexp manpages a bit too daunting and managed to achieve some degree of mastery (I remember the feeling of acomplishment rolling a regexp to parse httpd logs).
I'd love a copy for review (*hint*) or otherwise it's added to my "hopefully I'll have some spare cash next month to buy" list :)
