earthquake!

Woke up at about 7am, to find the building shaking. Thought I must be dreaming so rolled over and went back to bed :)

Turns out there was an earthquake just south of Plattsburgh, on the other side of the lake (I'm in Burlington, VT).

Didn't even know that earthquakes happened on the east coast :)

I've been two fairly sizeable (5.0+) earthquakes in my life, and I do not like them. And they're much much worse when they happen someplace where buildings aren't built with the assumption that there will be earthquakes. Notably, anywhere where you can build walls out of brick, look out!

One thing I really like about New Mexico, where I live now, is that it's more or less immune to earthquakes. The downside is that means we get all the country's nuclear waste. Mmmm, CHEWY.
