A couple of weeks or so ago my frankenstein linux server died. It was quietly sitting in the corner doing its thing and I didn't notice its demise until DynDNS deleted the domain.
I made it from scavenged bits running on a BX motherboard I got from Ebay for $10 and a Powerleap P3 running at an odd 962mhz. After spending $250 at Newegg it's going to be a Celeron 2.4ghz with PC2100 memory, and all the goodness that brings. I even ordered SUSE Linux 9.1 Professional to try on it after a lack of joy with my last Fedora install.
