Making Money

Somebody once told me to never do business with people that aren't making enough money from you. Sure you're getting a great deal now but if they're not going to be around in the long-run it's not worth it.

The whole crazy fiasco about Movable Type's pricing has reminded me that most people are stupid. The amount of braying and whining on blogs is sad. This is how I figure stuff like this out. I consider my time worth a minimum of $20 an hour. If I can pay somebody $60 for something that would take me three hours then I'm laughing all the way to the ATM. I'm going to get my credit card out and pay Six Apart the money as soon I have some time to install version 3.0. I get something good, they get some money to keep doing good things, it doesn't take a genius to work out that this a win-win situation.

In a single evening I've gone out and pissed away way more than $60. I spent $57 on CDs last week. Everytime I read "blah blah blah they are evil blah blah I'm going to install WordPress", I think that's somebody that doesn't value their time enough. Fuck them, I'm going to blog this and go do something productive.
