I've had cable internet for a couple of weeks now and it seemed to be at least as speedy as the DSL I had before, but I hadn't really downloaded anything big. Tonight I updated fink and downloaded Perl 5.8.2 on my iBook and noticed that my downloads got up to 390k/s, averaging 200-350k/s depending on the site. Not bad for $19.99/mo for the first six months and then $39.99 after that.
At the price, I can't argue about the asymmetrical speed.. about 2 megabit down, and 256K up for $40-ish dollars per month.
