I've just got a shiny new Ford Taurus (well 1997, 74k miles) to replace my somewhat smashed in Saturn.
All I now need is something so I play my iPod in the car...
Get a car kit. You know, one of those tapes that plug into a standard headphone jack. A cheap one will set you back 10 bucks.
It's not a perfect solution. You probably also want a cigarette-lighter charger. This might be better, but it's $40 and you might have to get a new car stereo to use it.

I just ordered one of those plus the FM transmitter that plugs into it. I've had those tape converter things before and never had much joy with them.Re:Car kit

I've had good luck with the car kits, but the last two rental cars I got didn't have a tape player, just CD. I wonder if the disappearance of tapes from the music store shelves mean the disappearance of cars with tape players?
That's OK if what you have are CDs, but not OK if what you have is an iPod (or similar device).
